Bhubaneswar: Even as several parts of Odisha shivered due to cold wave conditions on Wednesday, the IMD forecast further drop in minimum temperature in 24 hours.
According to evening bulletin of the regional centre of India Meteorological Department (IMD) in Bhubaneswar, minimum temperature (night temperature) is very likely to fall further by 2 to 3 degree Celsius in next 24 hours.
Issuing a yellow warning, the IMD said cold wave condition is very likely to occur at one or two places in districts of
Jharsuguda and Sundargarh. However, there will be no large change thereafter at many places, it added.
The minimum temperature at many places in the state dropped by 2 to 4 degree Celsius in the last 24 hours with Rourkela in Sundargarh district recording the lowest minimum temperature of 8 degree Celsius. It was followed by Jharsuguda with 8.8 degree, Phulbani (10.5) and Sundargarh (11.5).
Bhubaneswar recorded the maximum temperature of 32.3 degree Celsius and minimum of 16.5 degree while Cuttack recorded the maximum of 30.8 degree and minimum of 16.6 degree in the past 24 hours.
The IMD forecast that the maximum and minimum temperature in Bhubaneswar is very likely to be around 31 degree C and 15 degree C respectively in next 24 hours.
