Bhubaneswar: Maximum temperature shot up to 38 degree Celsius in three places of Odisha on Sunday as IMD forecast hotter days ahead.
According to regional centre of India Meteorological Department (IMD) in Bhubaneswar, Balangir recorded the state’s highest temperature of 38.5 degree Celsius on the day. It was followed by Titlagarh in the same district with 38.2 degree and Malkangiri with 38 degree.
While Nayagarh and Bhawanipatna in Kalahandi district recorded 37 degree Celsius, the twin cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack registered maximum (day) temperature of 35.3 and 34.6 degree Celsius respectively.
The Met office forecast that maximum temperature (day temperature) is very likely to rise by 3-4 degree Celsius during next 4 days at many places in the state. But there will be no major change in temperature thereafter.
Minimum temperature (night temperature) is also likely to rise by 2-3 degree Celsius during next 5 days at many places.
