Temperature Touches 43 Degree Celsius In 4 Places Of Odisha; Angul Hottest

Bhubaneswar: Odisha continued to be in the grip of intense heatwave as temperature went up to 43 degree Celsius in 4 places on Saturday.

As per the data of regional centre of India Meteorological Department (IMD) in Bhubaneswar, Angul was the hottest place in the state with a maximum (day) temperature of 43.5 degree Celsius.

Angul was followed by Malkangiri with 43.2 degree and Titalgarh with 43 degree Celsius. The twin cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack registered maximum temperature of 39.6 and 40.1 degree Celsius respectively. The capital city had recorded 43.5 degree Celsius on Friday to become the hottest spot in the state.

The Met office said there will be no major change in maximum temperature during next 24 hours while it may
fall by 2-4°C in subsequent two days and no large change thereafter at many places in the state.

Earlier in the day, the IMD issued a yellow warning and forecast that heatwave condition is likely to prevail at one or two places in the districts of Angul, Nayagarh, Balangir, Malkangiri, Bhadrak, Gajapati and Boudh till Sunday.

Warm night condition is also likely to prevail at one or two places in Balangir, Kandhamal, Nayagarh, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur and Malkangiri, the weather office said.
