Mumbai: Veteran Actor and style icon Sridevi passed away following a cardiac arrest in Dubai on Saturday. As the film fraternity and fans are still coping with the untimely demise of veteran actress Sridevi, Odisha Bytes brings you some lesser known facts about the Bollywood icon.
1. Sridevi was named as Shree Amma Yanger Ayyapan upon birth.
2. Sridevi made her debut at the age of four in a Tamil movie Thunaivan
3. She won her first State Film Award (Kerala) as a Child Artist in Malayalam movie Poompatta (1971)
4. Her first role as a leading lady in the Tamil movie Moondru Mudichu.
5. Sridevi was approached by Hollywood director Steven Spielberg to briefly appear in the movie ‘Jurrasic Park.’ However, she rejected the offer as she was at the peak of her Bollywood career.
6. Uncomfortable at speaking in Hindi, Sridevi’s voice were mostly dubbed by Naaz. Actress Rekha, too has lend her voice for the actor in the movie ‘Aakhiri Raasta.’
7. While shooting for the popular song ‘Na Jaane Kaha Se Aayi Hai,’ from the movie Chalbaz, the actor was down with 103 degrees fever.
8. Sridevi has worked in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada film industries.
9. The first time Sridevi dubbed her dialogues in Hindi, was for Yash Chopra’s movie Chandni.
10.Though the actor last appeared in the movie ‘MOM,’ she will make a cameo in Shah Rukh Khan’s upcoming movie ‘Zero,’ which is slated to release at the end of this year.
