Tender Process On For Rs 297 Cr 2nd Trisulia Bridge To Ease Bhubaneswar-Cuttack Traffic

Bhubaneswar: In a significant move to tackle the growing traffic pressure between Bhubaneswar and Cuttack, the Odisha government has approved a proposal for the construction of a second bridge at Trisulia, the state Assembly was informed on Saturday.

Sharing this information while answering a question by Congress MLA Sofia Firdous, Works Minister Prithviraj Harichandan said the project, aimed at easing congestion, will be executed at an estimated cost of Rs 297.59 crore.

While the Detailed Project Report (DPR) has been completed and administrative approval has been granted, the tender process is in progress, and the construction is targeted to be completed in 36 months. The Odisha Bridges and Construction Corporation (OBCC) is handling the process, he said.

The proposed bridge is likely to bring a major relief to commuters as the existing Trisulia bridge currently bears heavy vehicular traffic linking Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, and the adjoining districts. With the volume of traffic in the region increasing rapidly, the second bridge is set to ensure smooth vehicular movement.
