Bhadrak: Tension prevailed following the death of a biker in a crash, involving three vehicles, at Bishnupur in Odisha’s Bhadrak district on Friday morning.
The deceased has been identified as Rajkishore Sahu (32) of Uttarbad village under Bhandaripokhari Tehsil in the district.
According to sources, an oil tanker en route to Bhubaneswar rammed a trailer truck. Following which, the driver of the trailer lost control over the vehicle and crashed into a parked car. Additionally, the trailer veered into a nearby brick factory located near NH-16 and the impact led to a bike rider being thrown off and crushed under its wheels.
While the biker succumbed to the injuries sustained in the accident, irate locals staged a demonstration on the highway, demanding compensation for the bereaved family. The protesters opposed the movement of buses and heavy vehicles on the crowded route.
Police soon reached the spot to control the situation and prevent further flare-ups.
