Panic Grips Post Office In Keonjhar As Parcel Emits Smoke

Keonjhar: Panic gripped employees of Ghasipura post office in Keonjhar district when they received a parcel emitting smoke on Thursday morning.

The alarm was not hard to understand against the backdrop of the recent parcel bomb blast in Balangir district in which two persons were killed.

A half-burnt solar lamp was later found inside the parcel.

On receiving the parcel this morning, the employees had immediately alerted the police and local fire personnel.

A team of fire and police personnel had rushed to the spot and took the parcel to an open place outside the post office.

According to information, the parcel was supposed to be sent to Deogaon post office for delivery. An inquiry into the matter is underway.
