Jajpur: Tension prevailed at Baruna-Balichandrapur Road in Jajpur district on Tuesday over the death of a CRPF Jawan at the SCB Medical College and Hospital on Monday. Vehicular traffic on Baruna-Balichandrapur Road was disrupted as the deceased’s family members blocked the road demanding compensation.
The deceased Jawan has been identified as Soumyaranjan Parida.
According to sources, Parida had gone to attend a wedding with his friends on Sunday. His family members and some locals found him in a critical condition on Monday night near his house. He was rushed to a hospital in Jajpur. Later, he was shifted to the SCB Medical College and Hospital where he died.
Alleging that he has been murdered, his family members placed his body on the road and blocked it. On being informed, Dharmasala police reached the spot and brought the situation under control.
Two persons have been detained by the police in this connection.
Interrogation and further investigation into the matter is on.
