Malkangiri: Tension ran high in a health centre at MV-19 in Malkangiri district on Thursday as a patient became critical after being allegedly administered an expired injection.
According to available information, Gopal Mandal was admitted to the health centre by his family members on Wednesday after he was diagnosed with Malaria. However, his conditioned deteriorated after being administered an injection.
Following this, the attendants of the patients created a ruckus inside the hospital campus alleging that the two injections brought by them from a nearby private medicine store on the prescription of a doctor of the hospital had expired. They demanded action against the owner of the medical store for negligence.
The medicine store owner, however, has refuted the allegation.
Meanwhile, Gopal has been shifted to the district headquarters hospital and his health condition reported to have improved.
