Cuttack: Family members of an eight-year-old, who died due to alleged medical negligence, locked up the casualty ward of SCB Medical College and Hospital here on Sunday morning
The deceased, identified as Pratyush Das, was a native of Sector-6 in Cuttack.
According to sources, the boy slipped from the staircase of his house on Saturday and was admitted to Sishu Bhawan here.
He was later shifted to the casualty ward of SCB.
After a few examinations and a CT scan, doctors declared that the child safe and discharged him from hospital.
Back home, he started vomiting again and his family got him readmitted to SCB, where he died this morning.
Alleging medical negligence, family members of the child created ruckus at the hospital and demanded strict action against the hospital authorities. They also locked the causality by placing the body of the child.
On being informed, police reached the spot and tried to pacify the situation.
