Sambalpur: Two persons were injured as unidentified miscreants hurled country-made bombs at them in Odisha’s Sambalpur on Tuesday.
As per reports, the two youths were standing near Pir Baba Chhak in the city by parking their motorcycle on the side of the road in the evening. At this time, two hand-made bombs were hurled at them from the flyover above the road.
As the bombs hit the bike and exploded, the youths were seriously injured. Tension prevailed in the area as the locals gathered at the spot. But the attackers managed to escape.
On being informed by the locals, a police team led by Sambalpur SP and IG (north) went to the spot and pacified the agitated people. The injured persons were sent to the hospital for treatment.
A platoon of police force has been deployed in the area to prevent escalation of law and order problem. The police have started investigation to identity the miscreants and nab them.
