Thailand Cave Rescue: 8th Boy Safely Out, More Good News Expected

Bangkok: Reports are in that four more boys have been successfully rescued today from the cave in Thailand in which an entire soccer team with their coach has been trapped for two weeks now.

Four members were rescued on Sunday, bringing the total count of those rescued to eight. This leaves four more boys and their coach inside the tunnel. The Thai Navy Seal team has been engaged in the risky mission of rescuing them from the Tham Luang cave located in the Chiang Rai province in northern Thailand.

According to CNN reports, the rescue operations will close for the evening.

Narongsak Osottanakorn, the former Governor of Chiang Rai province and head of the joint command centre co-ordinating the operation, told reporters that despite the many challenges and the death of one diver a few days back, “I expect we will have good news in the next few hours.” He also said that the whole operation could finish quicker owing to lower water levels now.

Players of the ‘Wild Boar’ soccer team along with their coach were trapped following rise in water levels inside the underground caves two weeks back.
