Bhubaneswar: Odisha blew away Chhattisgarh 4-2 in their opening match of the Junior Girls’ National Football championship at Anantapur in Andhra Pradesh.

Odisha went all out from the first whistle and pumped in three goals in the first half itself.

Thandamoni Baskey found the net in the 14th and 43rd minute, with Rupashree Munda chipping in with a goal in the 20th.

Thandamoni completed her hat-trick 10 minutes after half-time to hand Odisha a 4-0 advantage.

As Odisha players took their foot off the pedal, Chhattisgarh pulled two back through Hembati Baghel (67, 81).

Odisha will face Delhi and Mizoram in their other group league engagements.
