Kelvinator “The Coolest One” Set To Make A Comeback With Reliance

Mukesh Ambani led Reliance Industries has signed up an exclusive deal with Swedish maker Electrolux to bring back the iconic Kelvinator brand in India.

The long-term deal, which will be a “more than 10-year contract” will relaunch Kelvinator refrigerators along with washing machines, air-conditioners and microwave ovens in phases.

Reliance Retail is reportedly evaluating whether to use the popular “The Coolest One” tagline or not.

Kelvinator was earlier licensed to Videocon Industries but the deal ended last year due to non-payment of royalty. Kelvinator, at its peak, used to be Rs 1000-crore plus business. Reliance Retail has risen a strong 27 per cent in revenues to Rs 41,202 crore in the September quarter, amidst an economic slump.
