Mumbai: The success of ‘The Kerala Story’ has encouraged its makers to embark on their next venture.
Sudipto Sen, who directed ‘The Kerala Story’, and producer Vipul Shah will next come together in a film titled ‘Bastar’.
The first poster was released today, along with the announcement of release date – April 5, 2024.
“Hidden truth that will take the nation by a storm,” states the announcement poster.
“Unveiling our next, #Bastar. Prepare to witness another gripping true incident that will leave you speechless. Mark your calendars for April 5, 2024,” the post mentioned.
As the title suggests, ‘Bastar’ is based on Maoist terrorism in Chhattisgarh.
Sen mentioned the deadly attack on April 6, 2010.
“April 6, 2010. 76 CRPF jawan and 8 poor villagers were killed in bloodiest attack by the terrorists, in Chintalner village of Dantewada District of Bastar, Chhattisgarh. After exactly 14 years, poetic justice will be delivered. #Bastar… Our humble presentation after #TheKeralaStory. Thank you #VipulAmrutlalShah and @sunshinepicture for showing the heart,” Sen tweeted along with the poster.
