Nabarangpur: In a daring act, a group of thieves reportedly broke into the office of the district collector in Odisha’s Nabarangpur and stole several electronic equipment.
According to preliminary information, the theft incident came to light on Monday when some staff members of the office noticed it. The office was closed due to holiday on Sunday.
Sources said that the miscreants decamped with four computer monitors, two CPUs and a printer from the election sub-division room and Deputy Collector’s office room situated on the ground floor of the Collector’s office building.
The thieves were stated to have entered the building after breaking open a lock.
After noticing the theft, the office staff informed Nabarangpur Town Police Station. Police personnel along with a scientific team and sniffer dogs visited the spot and launched an investigation.
