Bhadrak: The spate of thefts in the city has put a question mark on the police administration. Several shops have been looted in the recent past.
In the latest incident, a temple was looted by thieves on Wednesday night. Incidentally, the Lord Jagannath temple, where the incident took place, is situated close to the town police station, yet the police were oblivious of the crime and the thieves made away with ornaments and utensils from the temple.

Later, the priests along with local residents reported the matter to the police.
Recently on December 2, two dreaded criminals were arrested following an encounter with the police near Barapada in Bhadrak district. According to the police official, the duo had looted Rs 29 lakh from Charampa ATM.
