Thinking Out Of Box: This Airline To Open A Unique Aircraft Restaurant!

Singapore: With regular flights grounded due to the COVID-19 pandemic, airline companies have been thinking out of the box to try and generate some revenue. Singapore Airlines has decided to open a restaurant on board one of its planes.

They had initially planned to launch some ‘no-destination’ fantasy flights whereby people can experience flying during the pandemic without leaving the country, akin to the service being provided by Australian airline Qantas, as well as Japan and Taiwan airlines.

According to The Independent, the airline has abandoned the idea and, post a market study, has decided to use one of its grounded jumbo jets as a restaurant at Changi Airport.

The unique dining experience aboard an Airbus A380 will open in the last week of October. Visitors to the restaurant will be given the choice of a class of seat. Prices will range from S$50 (Rs 2,685) for an economy seat to S$300 (Rs 16,110) for business class and S$600 (Rs 32,221) for a suite.

Diners will be able to choose from a menu of international or Peranakan dishes. Meals will include two free alcoholic drinks and unlimited soft drinks.

Visitors will be presented a goodie bag, while there will be a free gift for those who turn up in traditional wear.
