Bhubaneswar: The third-phase COVID-19 vaccination of the people of 18-44 age group will begin in the city from May 3.
Speaking to the media on Saturday, Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) Commissioner Prem Chandra Chaudhary said the people who have registered their names will be vaccinated.
Initially, the vaccination drive will be carried out in government hospitals in the city where the people of 18-44 age group and in the age group of 45 and above will be vaccinated simultaneously. There will be separate arrangements for the people of the two age groups, Chaudhary said.
Stating that the trial run of application of Covaxin vaccine in the third phase has started at the Community Health Centre (CHC) in Nayapalli, the BMC commissioner said adding that the slot of appointment will be done this afternoon.
The state government received 1.5 lakh doses of Covaxin vaccine as first consignment of the state’s own procurement for vaccination of 18-44 year age group at 9 pm on Friday.
