Third Suspected Spy Pigeon Caught In Odisha

Bhadrak: Another pigeon, suspected of being used for spying, was caught at Balimed village under Basudevpur block in Odisha’s Bhadrak district.

According to sources, Sushil Mohanty of the village found the bird ringed on its legs during hailstorm on Tuesday and it was then handed over to the Forest Department.

Forest officials informed that Dickson Yadav was found etched on one of the rings, apart from some coded messages. The pigeon is likely to be handed over to police on Wednesday.

This is third incident in the state this month. One pigeon was caught from a fishing boat off the Paradip coast in Jagatsinghpur district on March 6 and another with tags attached to its legs with brass and plastic rings was caught at Nanpur village in the Astarang block of Puri district on March 15.

In the first case, devices that looked like a camera and a microchip was found fitted to it.
