Mumbai: As fans are eagerly looking forward to see Kartik Aaryan play an Ichadaari Naag (shape-shifting serpent) in ‘Naagzilla’, fresh reports hint at the actress who may play the leading lady opposite him.
In the film directed by Mrighdeep Singh Lamba of ‘Fukrey’ fame, Kartik will be essaying the role of Preyamvadeshwar Pyare Chand, an Ichadaari Naag.
According to a report by Variety India, the filmmakers have finalised Preity Mukhundhan to play the female lead, opposite Kartik in the film.
Preity is a popular South actress who has worked in Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam films.
She made her acting debut in 2024 with the Telugu horror comedy ‘Om Bheem Bush.’ She has also featured in ‘Star’, ‘Kannappa’ (Telugu), ‘Maine Pyar Kiya’, and ‘Sarvam Maya’.
‘Naagzilla’ was previously slated to be released on August 14, clashing with ‘Love & War.’
Now, the buzz is that the makers might postpone the release date.
“Naagzilla’s shoot is still going on and is expected to be wrapped up in a few months. Moreover, this is a film with heavy VFX. As a result, the post-production is going to take a lot of time. The makers of the film and lead actor Kartik Aaryan are very clear that they don’t want to rush through the process. They are aware that they have a special film in hand and want to nurture and fine-tune it properly before presenting it to the audience. The makers of Naagzilla are looking for a new date and once it is locked, it will be officially announced,” a source was quoted as saying by Bollywood Hungama.
