Puri: The district administration on Friday declared wards 25, 26, 31, and 32 of Penthakata area under Puri Municipality as containment zones for nine days. The restrictions will be imposed from Saturday (July 24) 9 pm and it will continue till 5 am of August 3.
Informing the media, Collector Balwant Singh said that the decision was taken considering the latest trend in COVID-19 cases with 40 per cent of them being detected in Penthakata area.
“The restrictions will be clamped from the right side areas of Youth Hotel Chhak to Kamala Hospital Chhak (right side), Rajguru Chhak to Ram Mandir Chhak (right side), Odisha Bakery to ITI Chhak till Talabania pumphouse and then the boundary of Balukhand sanctuary, from the backside of Sanskriti Sanctuary till Pink House Hotel on the sea beach and then Sunargouranga Chhak,” he said.
Essential services, including the movement of health, will be allowed. The municipality will allow vendors to supply milk and other essential items. “I urge people to stay indoors during this period and inform our volunteers about symptomatic cases,” he added.
