Sonepur: The pandemic has taught teachers to cope with the abrupt closure of schools and keep children engaged while not hindering the learning process.
In one such initiative, the teachers of Balenpali Government High School in Balenpali village under Dunguripali block in Sonepur district have started teaching mothers of school students.
If mothers are taught, then they can teach their kids. With this thought, the teachers have taken this step, said sources in the school.
After reopening, the students were not coming to school, the teacher said. This is when the school came up with the idea of teaching mothers too. Maintaining social distance and wearing masks, the women are attending classes like their children. They are also bringing books, copies and pen to the school to attend classes, the teacher said.
During the time when schools were closed, many students who do not have mobile phones due to poor financial condition could not attend classes. Poor network was also a constant problem for many students. To solve all these problems, the school authority organised a meeting in the village and proposed villagers regarding inclusion of parents in the class.
When the villagers agreed with the proposal of the school authority, classes of mothers of the students were arranged in the school.
The villagers are praising this unique initiative of the school authority.
