Keonjhar: The death of students due to drowning in the Baitarani has prompted the administration in Odisha’s Keonjhar to declare Kesharikund, a tourist spot, at Sarei village under Champua police limits as a prohibited zone.
The place was declared off limits on Saturday after an official team led by Champua sub-collector Umakant Parida went to the spot and reviewed conditions. He has instructed officials to install warning signage and danger ribbons. The site is also being barricaded.
Action will be taken against those accessing the site without permission, he added.
On Friday, two minors drowned while taking a bath in the river during a picnic with a group of students at Kesharikund.
