Dhenkanal: Police rescued three children hiding under a bush near the Dakshina Kali temple in this town on Wednesday night and handed them to their mother.
The incident came to light when some residents of an apartment near the temple found the three children under the bush and informed police.
Narrating their ordeal, the children said their father was an alcoholic and used to beat them every day. Unable to tolerate the torture, they had run away.
The terrified children also told police that their father severely thrashes their younger sister, who is left behind at their home.
