Srinagar: The Jammu & Kashmir administration on Saturday terminated the services of four employees for their involvement in anti-national activities.

The sacked employees included two police constables, a school teacher and an assistant lineman of the Union Territory’s Jal Shakti department.

They were dismissed without an inquiry under Article 311 (2) (c) of the Constitution as part of the UT’s offensive against terror-friendly employees.

The activities of these four employees had come to the notice of law enforcement and intelligence agencies, who found them to be involved in activities prejudicial to the interests of the State.

Services of over 50 terror-friendly employees have been terminated by the General Administration Department (GAD) of Jammu & Kashmir government for posing a threat to State’s security.

“Whereas the Lieutenant Governor (Manoj Sinha), after considering the facts and circumstances of the case and on the basis of the information available that the activities of Mr Anaytullah Shah Pirzada, Assistant Lineman in the Jal Shakti Department… warrant his dismissal from service. Accordingly, the Lieutenant Governor hereby dismisses Pirzada with immediate effect,” read the order issued by GAD.

“And whereas, the Lieutenant Governor is satisfied under sub section (c) of the proviso of clause (2) of Article 311 of the Constitution of Indian that in the interest of the security of the state, it is not expedient to hold an enquiry in the case of Mr Anaytullah Shah Pirzada,” the order further stated.

Similarly-worded notices were served to senior grade police constable Abdul Rehman Dar, police constable Ghulam Rasool Bhat and school teacher Shabeer Ahmad Wani.
