Sambalpur: Sambalpur police on Wednesday arrested three persons in connection with a burglary case at Kusumi village under Mahulapali police limits in the district.
The accused have been identified as Manbodh Kisan (24), Umesh Kisan (19) and Jasketan Kisan (34). They all belong to Sambalpur district.
According to the sources, Ajaya Kumar Behera (39) of Kusumi village had lodged a written complaint at Kusumi police station on November 26 stating that Rs 2,90,000 was looted from his house while he and his family members were away in Gudguda to attend Biswasanti Mahajagyan on November 23.
During investigation, police found that Manbodh and Umesh were engaged by the owner of a tent house for house construction adjacent to that of the complainant. Suspecting their involvement in the case. they were detained for interrogation. The duo then confessed to have committed the burglary.
Police seized Rs 1,80,000 from Manbodh and Rs 50,000 each from Umesh and Jasketan Kisan, the sources added.
