Cuttack: Three persons, including a woman, were arrested for their alleged involvement in smuggling of ganja in Odisha’s Cuttack district.
The accused have been identified as Mohammad Tayyab and Siddiqui Ahmed Khan from Cuttack’s Tigiria locality and Tapaswini Digal, a woman from Kandhamal district. The three were arrested from Cuttack’s Nuapatna village and forwarded to court on Saturday.
According to police sources, the three were caught red-handed from a house near Nuapatna post office with ganja packets. Before being caught by the cops, the trio resisted the police team and damaged their vehicles. While both sides were engaged in a physical tussle, a few members of the racket managed to flee.
Speaking about the incident, Cuttack Rural SP Prateek Singh said to a section of media that the remaining members of the racket would be caught soon and produced before the court.
