Three Bikers Mowed Down By Speeding Truck In Odisha

Sambalpur: Three persons were killed while one sustained critical injuries after a speeding truck hit two motorcycles at Bareipali in Odisha’s Sambalpur late on Tuesday night.

The victims are believed to be the residents of Hirakud. Their identity is yet to be ascertained.

According to sources, the bikers were run over by the truck while on their way to Burla. The driver accelerated and fled the spot soon after the accident.

The riders were rescued by locals and rushed to a nearby government hospital, where doctors declared them dead.

The injured has been admitted to Veer Surendra Sai Institute of Medical Sciences and Research (VIMSAR) at Burla and his health condition is stated to be critical.

Police are checking the footages of CCTV cameras installed at a nearby petrol pump to identify the killer truck.
