Gandhinagar: Gujarat reported its first coronavirus death on Sunday, making it three in a day for India and taking the toll to seven.
The victim is a 69-year-old man of Surat. He was among 18 infected persons in the state.
Earlier in the day, a 38-year-old man from Bihar had become the sixth casualty of the COVID-19. He had returned from Qatar and was admitted to AIIMS, Patna, on Friday for kidney problem. He had tested positive for the infection and the AIIMS authorities declared him dead on Sunday.
The first death of the day was reported from Mumbai, where a 63-year-old person with a history of chronic diabetes, high blood pressure, and heart problem had passed away.
The number of infected people in the country stands at 324.
