Cuttack: Three persons were critically injured after the car in which they were travelling plunged nearly 100 feet off an under-construction bridge in Odisha’s Cuttack district in the wee hours on Saturday.
The mishap took place when the car carrying the victims was moving on the under-construction Bilasuni-Kundimuha bridge in Niali area of the district this morning, sources said.
As the vehicle plunged off the bridge, three persons on board sustained critical injuries. They were rescued by locals and rushed to the community health centre *CHC) at Niali for treatment. They were later shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack where their condition was stated to be critical.
The victims were reportedly proceeding from Jagatsinghpur towards Niali when the mishap took place. Their identity is yet to be ascertained.
Angry over the incident, residents of the nearby villages lashed out at the authorities for the delay in completing the construction work. They demanded immediate steps to complete the project for the safety of people.
