Bhubaneswar: Three persons died after a car in which they were travelling crashed into a truck on National Highway 57 near Pitapalli Chhak near Odisha’s Khurda late on Friday.
The deceased have been identified as Bishwa Chetan Mishra, Bishwaranjan Sethi, and Prashant Pradhan, all residents of Chandrapur area in Puri.
According to sources, two among died on the spot under the impact of the collision in which the front part of the car was completely damaged, while another, who was rescued and shifted to AIIMS-Bhubaneswar, succumbed during treatment. It is being suspected that the driver of car lost control over the speeding vehicle and dashed into the truck while travelling to Khurda from Bhubaneswar.
Local police promptly informed the families of the deceased, who later arrived at the accident site. Further investigation is underway.
