Puri: Three persons were arrested for trying to sneak into the Jagannath temple here by posing as servitors during the Snana Purnima rituals on Friday.
Police said the accused are from Achyutananda Ashram at Nemalo in Cuttack district.
According to reports, the accused had managed to reach Singhadwara on an SUV via Badadanda despite the imposition of Section 144 around the temple to avoid gathering of devotees during the Snana Purnima rituals.
However, the three, who were disguised as servitors, were spotted by police officials and media personnel as they tried to enter the temple. They were later taken to Singhadwara police station.
On the other hand, the accused claimed that they came to the temple to get Mahaprasad.
