Three Of Family Killed, Five Injured In Accident On Cuttack-Paradip Road

Jagatsinghpur: Three members of a family were killed while five others sustained injuries after a car rammed into a scooter on Cuttack-Paradip road near Pathuriagada in Jagatsinghpur district on Wednesday.

Parakhita Satapathy, and his son Om and nephew, who were riding pillion, died on the spot.

According to available information, the incident took place around 1 pm when the two-wheeler was hit by the speeding car carrying six to seven persons. Under the impact of the collision, the four-wheeler overturned.

Three persons travelling in the car sustained critical injuries and were rushed to Kujang hospital for treatment. They were later shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack after their condition deteriorated.

Protesting against the incident, a group of locals staged a road blockade near the accident spot demanding adequate compensation for the families of those killed in the accident.
