Three Football Players Killed In Road Accident In Odisha’s Sundargarh

Sundargarh: Three young football players died in a road mishap which took place on NH 520 under Koida police limits here on Sunday.

The deceased have been identified as Debendra Dehury (35), Anadi Nayak (32) and Anil Dehury (26) of Toda slum under Koida police limits in the district.

The mishap occurred when the three were returning home after a football match at a nearby village in the evening. On their way back, a speeding truck hit the bike near a bridge killing three of them on the spot.

Koida police have registered a case in this matter and investigating further. Tension erupted in the area following the tragedy with locals complaining that a stretch on the national highway in Koida has turned into a death trap.

Earlier this month, three members of a family were killed and another two critically injured, after the SUV they were travelling rammed into a stationary truck on NH 520 at Rengalbeda within Koida police limits.
