Sambalpur: The Hirakud Dam authorities closed three more gates on Thursday morning. As many gates were closed the previous night.
The authorities took the decision taking note of the sporadic rainfall in the upper catchments of the Mahanadi. At present, the floodwater is being released from four gates of the dam.
The water level of the dam recorded at 6 am on Wednesday was 623.04 feet with the inflow and outflow at 1,00,509 cusecs and 1,33,647 cusecs per second respectively.
