Bhubaneswar: In a major breakthrough, Nayapalli police with the assistance of the special squad arrested three persons on Monday for their alleged involvement in the burglary at the official residence of IAS Pranabjyoti Nath here last month.
Those arrested were identified as Aditya Prasad Sahu and two juveniles. They will be forwarded to court.
The cops also recovered Rs 2.52 lakh in cash and gold ornaments worth Rs 3.5 lakh, besides two laptops and a LED TV, from their possession.
On November 21, the trio broke into the government quarter of the IAS officer, who works as the director of Industries Department, at Unit 8 while he was away on a family vacation and looted around Rs 5 lakh and gold ornaments.
