Sonepur: Three persons were killed and another sustained critical injury in a road accident near Hilung Chhak on the Biramaharajpur–Murshundhi road in Odisha’s Sonepur district.
The mishap took place when three motorcycles collided head-on on Tuesday night, resulting in multiple fatalities and s
erious injuries.
Sources said one person, identified as Agusthi Bhoi of Badamal village, died instantly at the accident site. Bhagwan Sethi of Hilung village succumbed while being shifted to Rourkela and Chandan Bhoi of Bankia village passed away during treatment at a Burla Hospital. The lone survivor, Shiv Jagdala of Bankia village, is battling for life under critical care.
Eyewitnesses described the collision as sudden, with the impact scattering vehicles and riders across the road. Local residents rushed to assist, arranging immediate transport for the injured victims.
Police later reached the scene to manage traffic and initiate an investigation into the circumstances leading to the crash.
