Angul: Three persons were killed while another was critically injured after a pick-up van collided with their motorcycle in Odisha’s Angul district on Sunday.
The accident took place on NH-55 near Samantarapur Chhak under Jarapada police limits in the afternoon.
According to sources, four persons of Kulei village were going on a bike towards Jarapada when the pick-van coming from the opposite direction rammed into them. Two of them died on the spot while one succumbed to his injuries at the district headquarters hospital during treatment. Condition of the other injured undergoing treatment at the hospital is stated to be critical.
The identity of deceased and the injured are yet to be revealed.
Tension prevailed in the area as the driver of the van fled the scene following the accident.
Meanwhile, police have seized the van and started an investigation.
