Family Feuds Claim Three Lives As Sons Attack Parents

Angul/Deogarh: A man allegedly killed his parents in a fit of rage in Angul district on Thursday night, while a similar incident was also reported from Deograh the same day.

In Angul, Dukhishyam Baghar (35) allegedly beat his parents to death with a hammer at Barapadar village under Kishore Nagar police limits. The incident took place when the couple attempted to prevent the son from attacking his wife over a family feud.

The deceased were identified as Karunakar (70) and his wife Champa (65).

Police have detained Dukhishyam for interrogation.

Similarly, a man was allegedly shot dead by his son at Shrugipada village under Kundheigola police limits in Deogarh district over a family dispute.

According to available information, the incident took place while Bhagirathi Munda (51) and his son Aju Munda (30) were consuming liquor. They reportedly had a heated argument and in a fit of rage, Aju took out a country-made pistol and opened fire on his father, killing him on the spot.

He too sustained bullet wounds in his leg and was admitted to a local hospital for treatment.
