Bhubaneswar: Amid statewide uproar over the suicide of a minor rape victim girl in Odisha’s Koraput district, the BJP has formed a three-member central committee that would visit Kunduli in the district for an on-the-spot investigation.

In a release, BJP National General Secretary Arun Singh said the three-member central team formed by the order of the party national president Amit Shah will visit Kunduli where the victim was allegedly gang raped.

The team to be led by BJP National General Secretary and former MP, Ms Saroj Pandey, will have Mrs Jyoti Dhrube, MP and party National General Secretary and MP, Mrs Anju Bala as other members.

The team will later submit its report to the party national president, the release added.

The date of the visit of the Central team will be announced shortly, party sources said.

Meanwhile, a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) filed in the Odisha High Court on Monday, has urged the court for a high level judicial probe into the incident and action against the erring officials for dereliction of their duty.

Meanwhile, the State BJP Mahila Morcha has decided to observe the ‘dasaha’ (10th day from the date of death) ritual of the victim as ‘Sankalp Divas’ on Wednesday. The Morcha will offer candles in the Godess temples in 109 mandals in the state, said Morcha president Pravati Parida.
