Three More Persons Arrested For Attack On Journalists In Odisha’s Jajpur

Jajpur: Police, on Wednesday, arrested three more persons in connection with the attack on journalists during panchayat elections at Binjharpur in Jajpur district.

The accused are Prasant Mallick, Pradip Mallick, and Sarat Mallick of Bamdebpur village. The accused have been forwarded to court following their arrest by Binjharpur police.

Binjharpur police has so far arrested 15 persons for allegedly attacking three journalists – Debashis Sahoo, Gulshan Ali Nawaz and Bijay Sahoo – while covering a booth rigging incident during the third phase of panchayat elections in Binjharpur area.

The journalists had sustained serious injuries and admitted to district headquarters hospital.
