New Delhi: Three persons have been arrested by Delhi Police for duping Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s daughter Harshita. The fourth person, who is the mastermind, is still absconding.
The three accused nabbed have been identified as Kapil, Manvendra and Sajid. Kapil and Manvendra are Uttar Pradesh residents while Sajid is a resident of Mewat.
Kapil used to operate an HDFC account, which Manvendra had opened. The other account was of Sajid’s where the duped money was transferred.
It may be recalled that an online scammer duped Harshita of Rs 34,000 when she was trying to sell a second-hand sofa on the popular sale-purchase online platform OLX.
According to police, Harshita had listed a used sofa on the online platform. After finalising the deal with a person, she was asked to scan a bar code to transfer the agreed amount of sofa in her account.
First, the scamster transferred a small amount into her account to show authenticity, but after that debited Rs 34,000 in two installments — first Rs 20,000 and then Rs 14,000.
