Bhubaneswar: Three of the four newly elected BJD MPs to the Rajya Sabha from Odisha are ‘Crorepatis’, according to National Election Watch (NEW) and Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR) data.
The data is based on the affidavits provided by the newly elected MPs.
* Manas Ranjan Mangaraj has movable assets of Rs 3,28,06,881 and immovable assets of Rs 4,97,50,000. His total assets are over Rs 8 crore.
* Sasmit Patra has movable assets of Rs 1,35,38,850 and immovable assets of Rs 1,33,87,920. His total assets are over Rs 2 crore. His assets have declined to Rs 2,69,26,770 this year from Rs 4,18,28,652, a 35.63% dip.
* Sulata Deo has movable assets of Rs 1,30,08,463 and immovable assets of Rs 38,50,000. Her total assets are over Rs 1 crore.
Of the 57 newly elected MPs, 53 are ‘Crorepatis’.
And of the three BJD MPs, one is a graduate, one a postgraduate and one a doctorate.
The report does not mention about the assets of Niranjan Bishi.
According to the report, no one from the newly elected MPs from Odisha have criminal cases pending against them.
