Malkangiri: Police on Sunday arrested three persons on labour trafficking charge in Kalimela of the district.
Acting on reliable information, Kalimela police conducted a raid on the bus stand and rescued 15 migrant labourers including four children. The police arrested three middlemen who were allegedly sending them to Telangana to work as bonded labourers.
The arrested persons are Tapan Mandal and Sachin Sardar of Kalimela and Mohan Harijan of Umerkote, police sources said.
The police have registered a case under the Inter State Migrant Workman Act and Child Labour (Prohibition and Regulation) Act.
