Malkangiri: Three persons going on a bike were killed as a bus ran over them in Odisha’s Malkangiri district on Saturday evening.
According to sources, the bus, operated by the state government, was going from Malkangiri town towards Padia in the district with passengers. At the same time, the three victims were coming on a motorcycle to Malkangiri.
At a place near Tamasa river between Malkangiri and MV 7, the bus collided with the bike head on while taking a blind turn and ran over it. All the three persons on the bike died on the spot, the sources said.
On being informed, local police went to the spot and sent the bodies for post-mortem. Palpable tension prevailed in the area as the locals detained the bus after the accident. The bus passengers also faced problem in continuing their journey.
