Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government on Tuesday effected a minor bureaucratic reshuffle, assigning new roles to three senior IAS officers.
According to a notification issued by the General Administration & Public Grievance Department, officer of 1999-batch Bhaskar Jyoti Sarma, who was serving as Principal Secretary in the Excise Department with additional charge as CMD of OPTCL and Chairman of the Odisha State Beverages Corporation Ltd, has been appointed as Principal Secretary, Forests, Environment and
Climate Change Department.
Sarma will continue to hold the additional charge of CMD, OPTCL.
Similarly, R Santhanagopalan, the 2001-batch officer currently serving as Chief Electoral Officer, Odisha and Ex-officio Principal Secretary, Home (Elections), has been given additional charge of Principal Secretary, Excise Department, as well as Chairman, Odisha State Beverages Corporation Limited.
As a result of this arrangement, Sarma’s additional charge as Chairman of the Odisha State Beverages Corporation Ltd. will stand terminated once Santhanagopalan takes charge.
Additionally, Tourism Commissioner-cum-Secretary Balwant Singh of 2007-batch, has been allowed to remain in the additional charge of Chairperson, Odisha State Highway Authority.
The notification also cancelled the February 5 order when Singh was assigned additional charge as Managing Director of the Odisha State Highway Authority.
