Baripada: Three minor sisters drowned while taking bath in a pond at Badabila village in Mayurbhanj district on Tuesday.
According to available information, the girls, aged 8, 10 and 12 years, set out for a bath along with their mother in a pond at Tadisahi. However, they got swept away and drowned.
Noticing this, their mother attempted to rescue the trio, but she was unable to do so.
Later, some villagers reached the spot on hearing the woman’s scream for help. Though some locals jumped into the pond, rescued the children from water and rushed them to Baripada hospital in an unconscious state, the doctors declared them brought dead.
