Jaleswar: Residents detained three cattle-laden trucks at Chalanti on NH-60 in Jaleswar of Odisha’s Balasore district and rescued nearly 300 cattle.

Acting on a tip-off, residents detained the three trucks in the morning and informed Jaleswar police, who rushed to the spot and rescued the cattle. Residents told journalists that the cattle were being illegally transported to neighbouring Bengal.

Police have detained the truck drivers and begun a probe.
