Khurda: Three wagons of a goods train went off the track at
marshalling yard near Khurda road station on Monday morning.
“There was no report of any injury or disruption of rail traffic in
the mishap. Restoration work on the track has also been completed. The
derailment occurred due to a mechanical problem. However, an inquiry
will be initiated to determine the exact cause of the mishap”, an
official of East Coast Railways informed.
Four days ago, as many as six wagons of a train carrying coal derailed
between Dumuraput and Damanjodi railway stations in Koraput district.
The train was on its way to Visakhapatnam from Jagdalpur when the
incident took place.
